"Finally, as I said to Sarah. Richard is clearly brilliant in his profession, and a GRACIOUS, humble champion of his sport. For me, having a woman there (Sarah) to complement his expertise and articulate in a woman's voice was extremely helpful. I think this is an example of "the whole being greater than the sum of the parts" having both Richard and Sarah together." Gaye Powell

"As a dressage trainer/instructor, and a dedicated horsewoman, I realize that you have to keep learning. Horsemanship is a life-long adventure. Throughout this adventure, finding people to help you grow and develop in a harmonious way can be challenging. I met Richard Winters many years ago, and was amazed at his way with horses. I watched him work with troubled horses and young unhandled horses with a softness and grace that brought these horses forward to a comfortable and confident place.
As the years have passed, as it should be with all Masters, Richard's knowledge and talent continues to blossom. That he is so willing to share and help others- such as myself- in an inspiring and fun way is a blessing! I have hosted many clinics with this Horseman and consider myself lucky to call him a friend. Richard makes you feel comfortable with your limitations and gives you confidence in yourself to go beyond your limitations! He shares of himself in a way that I have not seen in other clinicians. Our clinics are always fun and full of learning. Richard keeps us on our toes and quenches our thirst for knowledge. He continues to grow and is always ready to share of himself as he continues with his horsemanship journey."

"Balancing infinite patience with just the right measure of pushing, Richard Winters helped me banish ghosts of falling off, being run away with, and generally being out of control on horseback, replacing them with a powerful sense of confidence and clarity. The weekend I spent under his expert, personalized guidance opened a door I'd long wanted to go through. I wear my "Richard Winters Horsemanship" T-shirt with pride!" - Joy Sawyer Mulligan
This advancing clinic will revolve around the body control and maneuvers necessary for upper levels of performance. Through Richard's "4 Part Harmony" exercises, you will establish communication and suppleness of your horses head and neck, shoulders, rib cage and hind quarters. You'll gain greater understanding of stops, spins, lead changes, collection and refinement. This clinic will prepare you to perform at a higher level, regardless of your particular riding discipline.
While Richard continues to train horses from a myriad of equine disciplines, his passion and focus is with the Reined Cow Horses. His training program consists of preparing horses for the Snaffle Bit Futurity, continued development, and showing in the Hackamore and Bridle Horse classes. More and more, non-pro enthusiasts are finding Richard's teaching methods an invaluable resource as they pursue their own Reined Cow Horse goals.
Richard is happy to visit with you about your horse and how you might achieve your goals while enjoying the journey. Richard keeps a limited number of horses per month in training. You are welcome to contact us for further information about Richard's horse training program.
